Despite my best efforts to prepare my body physically for a recent skiing trip, I found myself using my business (and working hard) as an excuse to stay busy and not give my body the physical attention it needed. As you can imagine, I had difficulty keeping up with the people I was traveling with and the situation forced me to slow down and really listen to my body. In this episode, I talk about what I learned from striving to work harder and putting my physical wellbeing on the backburner.
Here’s a peek into what you will hear during this episode:
- Take the time to listen to your body.
- We need to slow down and be grateful for our bodies and what we have been given.
- Treat your body well – nourish it with healthy food, rest and exercise
- Self care is one of the biggest gifts you can give yourself.
- What kind of commitment maker are you? We are loyal to commitments we make to other people, but we break our commitments to ourselves.
- Your mind can justify anything to do the easy thing in the moment. It takes discipline to do the hard things – like show up for yourself.
- The 3 things that I am going to do to make sure I’m ready next year.
